Introduction
In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, recruitment has undergone significant transformations. The shift from traditional methods to digital platforms has streamlined selection processes and introduced new challenges and opportunities. This research aims to develop a digital touchpoint for digital recruitment.
Role
I had the privilege of collaborating with a dedicated team, including Ilaria Modesti, Michelle Cuevas, and Federico Topa. Together, we introduced an Agile organization structure, created a sprint plan, and facilitated work sessions to improve the digital recruitment process for Generation Z.
Metodology
Using a mixed-methods approach and combining qualitative and quantitative tools, we gathered insights into Generation Z users' job placement experience on digital recruitment platforms. We conducted structured interviews with a diverse sample of individuals and digital observation sessions to collect data from which we derived insights.

Kick off
How do generation Z users perceive digital recruitment platforms during their first interaction?
What emotions do they experience, and what factors contribute to these feelings?
What are the common barriers they encounter and how can they be addressed to improve the onboarding process?
The discovery
Digital recruitment platforms offer valid networking, development, and professional growth opportunities. Generation Z users are excited about discovering new job offers and connecting with industry professionals.
However, alongside these positive emotions, many individuals also experience anxiety and uncertainty while navigating. The competitive job market's nature, the pressure to stand out among peers, and the fear of rejection or failure can cause stress and anxiety during placement. These platforms are filled with content, and people perceive them as inauthentic, leading to skepticism and distrust among Generation Z.
Next steps
Improve User Experience: Our research has led us to a key recommendation: develop personalized placement processes that meet Generation Z users' unique needs and preferences. This will simplify their journey and make it more engaging and practical, offering a brighter future for digital recruitment.
Encourage Engagement: Building a support community is essential to encourage engagement and participation among Generation Z users. Platforms can achieve this by facilitating peer interactions, offering mentorship opportunities, and hosting virtual events and workshops.
Build Trust: Overcoming Skepticism and Uncertainty: Building trust is crucial to overcome skepticism and uncertainty among Generation Z users on digital recruitment platforms. Platforms can build trust by prioritizing transparency, honesty, and authenticity in user interactions.
Outcomes
Our research has illuminated the substantial difference in perception between older and younger generations, a critical insight for future in-depth studies. We've also outlined areas of focus for creating an inclusive, supportive, user-centered environment, providing valuable recommendations for the future of digital recruitment platforms.
